BEARS is the workplace-based amateur radio organization (ham club!) at The Walt Disney Company in Greater New York. A 501c3 tax-exempt, non-profit corporation, BEARS provides ham radio training, testing and communications support services to public and private emergency response agencies.
BEARS membership is open to current and aspiring hams inside and outside of Disney and its subsidiaries, and our expansive network of VHF and UHF ham repeaters in NYC, the Hudson Valley, Long Island and New Jersey is available to all licensed operators. BEARS is a founding member of DARI, the Disney Amateur Radio Interconnect, a consortium of open, linked VHF and UHF repeaters in greater Philadelphia, PA; the greater Baltimore, MD/Washington DC area; Orlando, FL; Bristol, CT; greater Los Angeles, CA and greater Boston, MA.
